The REVA car was designed in California and is manufactured by Mahindra REVA Electric Vehicles in India. The REVA is very small and maneuverable, seats 2 adults and 2 teens, requires no fuel, and the battery pack can be recharged at any standard electric outlet such as in your home or office within hours. Each full charge gives about 80 km of driving range, which in Kathmandu means 2-3 days of typical driving. As per our actual test driving in Kathmandu under typical usage, the cost to operate the vehicle is only about 30-35 Rupees a day (depending
on your electric rate).
The REVA has been tested for many years in India and is being exported to UK, Japan and other European countries, where REVA has passed and exceeded all Euro safety standards. We at Eco-Visions have tested many REVA cars in Kathmandu and found them perfectly suited for the Kathmandu streets, easy to park and drive on bumpy narrow roads, up steep hills and maneuvering in heavy traffic with no problem.
